Goals

The main goal of the workshop was to analyze the potential of government and private initiatives to produce, manage and share economic knowledge on real estate based on different national experiences. Participants were encouraged to discuss the role of cadastral and real estate registration systems and their influence on the development of a well functioning housing market.

Venue

The workshop venue was the Hadrian’s Temple in Rome, built in 145 a.C. in honour of the emperor Hadrian, deified after his death by his son and heir Antoninus Pius. The remains of the right side front, including 11 Corinthian columns 15 meters high and the ancient cornice, were included in a XVII century building, raised by Carlo and Francesco Fontana. This building, originally used as Vatican customs, in 1879 became the seat of the Chamber of Commerce and Stock Exchange.
